Course Description & Objectives: 

  It covers the fundamentals of project management and helps participants to understand how a project is conceptualized and initiated in support of the strategy and plans of the organization.  The course focuses on the design, development, and implementation of programs and projects. It describes the forces that are making project management critical to future organization success.  It is intended to help participants develop technical and socio-cultural skills and managing the interactions among them, and they would be better equipped to lead programs and projects. 

Learning Outcomes: 

At the end of this module the participant will: 

  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of focused program and project management and their application and context within an organization
  • Understand how a project is conceptualized and initiated in support of the strategy and plans of the organization
  • Practice and learn how to:
    • Learn how to define a project and its scope
    • Relate plans, programs, projects and organization strategy
    • Apply the fundamental principles of project management
    • Plan, schedule and control a project
