Course Description & Objectives: 

A general survey of the history of Islam in Africa from the Seventh Century to the present. A historical and sociological approach will be applied in the study, which will also examine critically the factors facilitating the spread and development of Islam in Africa. Special treatment will be given to Education, Muslim administration, Ideological conflicts and the colonial factor and its general impact on the lives of the Africans in the continent and the Diaspora.
