Course Description & Objectives: 

Introduction to the nature and structure of rural societies in developing countries, to enable students to analyze and understand the network of social, economic and political processes of rural living, and how they influence social interaction.  Based on this understanding, students are prepared to undertake subsequent studies in other sociology courses, including Rural Development.
