Course Description & Objectives: 

The course addresses the description of the relationship between social development, health, nutrition, and mechanisms for efficient allocation and utilization of health resources.  The areas emphasized include health seeking behavior and user perspectives, which are central to the sociology of health; Social factors in concepts of health and illness; theoretical approaches to health, illness and medicine; and Health care in different cultural settings.
