PhD in Agricultural And Rural Innovation

The purpose of the programme is to produce top-level skilled professionals with trans-disciplinary orientation to facilitate the development of institutions and structures for sustainable utilization of knowledge and technologies in agricultural and rural development in an integrated way.  The focus is on catalyzing value chain efficiency through innovations generated by knowledge, science and technology to improve the socio-economic wellbeing of rural communities.  The programme grooms agricultural and rural development champions in SSA with a wide mix of expertise including organizational and leadership skills, cross-cutting professional skills and the requisite mindsets to influence utilisation of knowledge and technology driven innovations for development.   Eligibility:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

• Candidates must hold a master'sdegree in agricultura related siences or social sciences from arecognised univesity.
• A master's degree in any other natural sciences from a recognised university and atleast two years of working experiece with an agricultural or rural development iniative.
• Profiency i english both spoken and written. Candidates without an english background may be required to ake a remedial course in english language as a pre requisite.
• A 4-5 page concenpt note indicating students' research interest areas and thir motivation for joining the programme.
• Work experience in an agricultural and rural development related initiative is an added advantage.
