Course Description & Objectives:

This course is a continuation from MUS 1207. Emphasis is on technique, theory, music reading, performance, practicing, and utilizing more advanced repertoire. Emphasis will be on a selection of repertoire from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras, as well. Participation in the Departmental performances is mandatory. Objectives:

To advance in solo playing techniques
To introduce the analysis of music from Renaissance, Baroque, Classic, Romantic and Modern eras, as well
To equip the students with skills to play ensemble music at an advanced level

Learning Outcomes:

Ability to negotiate the entire fret board through two and three octave scales
Demonstration of improved solo playing techniques
Competence in interpreting music from Renaissance, Baroque, Classic, Romantic and Modern eras, as well
Performance of advanced ensemble music
