Course Description & Objectives: 

This course is a continuation from MUS 1207. Emphasis is on technique, theory, music reading, performance, practicing, and utilizing more advanced repertoire. Emphasis will be on a selection of repertoire from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras, as well. Participation in the Departmental performances is mandatory.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Objectives: 

  • To advance in solo playing techniques
  • To introduce the analysis of music from Renaissance, Baroque, Classic, Romantic and Modern eras, as well
  • To equip the students with skills to play ensemble music at an advanced level 
Learning Outcomes: 

 

  • Ability to negotiate the entire fret board through two and three octave scales
  • Demonstration of improved solo playing techniques
  • Competence in interpreting music from Renaissance, Baroque, Classic, Romantic and Modern eras, as well
  • Performance of advanced ensemble music
