Course Description & Objectives:
- The course is organized around the leading literary critics of the twentieth century, whose statements and perspectives on literary criticism comprise the often opaque complex of current literary theories.
- Students are encouraged to evolve their own critical standpoint amid the complex of so many literary theories, and never to lose sight of "the literary object".
