Course Description & Objectives: 

This course covers the teaching of the embryology of maintenance the 3 coats of the eye.  The development of the Ocular appendages.  The formation of the orbital cavities, the paranosal spaces and the facial bones and soft facial tissues.  The course also covers the teaching of the representation and physiological support of binocular vision.  The representation of visual fields.  The course extensively covers  optics with particular emphasis on Geometric and clinical optics, refraction, instrument tests, intraocular lens power workout  low vision lens prescriptions and general spectacle ophthalmic lens prescriptions.  The course also teaches the principles of ocular pharmacology inclusive of drug preparations, vehicles and use.  Chemical intoxication and toxicology are also covered in this Course.
