Review of periodic table and electron events in atoms. Interaction of electromagnetic radiation with matter. UV and VIS spectroscopy: principles, instrumentation and applications.
- Aqueous Solutions, units and calculations; Acid-base chemistry & buffers; Biochemical energics, Enzymology, Amino acids, peptides & proteins, Carbohydrates- structure/functions, Composition of nucleic acids; Gene expression & control, Lipid structure/ functions; Lipid metabolism, hormones, vitamins & cofactors, Carbohydrate metabolism, Nitrogen metabolism, Electrochemical and immunochemical methods.
