Course Description & Objectives: 

This course is intended to give students the opportunity to have practical field experience in medicinal plants and other sources of natural products. The course is designed to enable students work in all areas of cultivation, preservation and distribution of medicinal plants and their products.

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of this course, the student is expected to be able to:-

  • Identify medicinal plants in their locations;
  • Utilize the knowledge gained in the cultivation of medicinal plants;
  • Carry out ethnomedicinal studies; and,
  • Perform quality control tests on herbal medicines.
