Aspects Of Kiswahili Culture

This course provides the student with a background to culture study and then goes on to look at the Kiswahili cultural practices pertaining to courtship and marriage, conception , birth ceremony, upbringing of children, initiation of girls and boys, death and burial, the widow after a husband’s death, etc. The influence of modern developments on Kiswahili culture will also be looked at.
