Objectives:
- At the end of the course the students should understand the nature and scope of the work of a speech and language therapist and the concept of ‘communication’ as understood by speech and language therapists
- Students should have knowledge of a range of models on which to base their understanding of communication and communication breakdown
- Students should be able to demonstrate awareness of the nature, cause and implications of the main types of communication disabilities in children and adults
