- Introduction to clinical, food, environmental, agricultural & industrial microbiology including Microbial classification
- Classification and biology of specialised microbes (plant, animals & humans).
- Evolution & historical perspectives of micro organisms
- Visualisation & structure, growth & metabolism, genetics of micro organisms
- Practicals include Media preparation and inoculation. Isolation and identification staining and biochemical tests. Fungal isolation and identification.
