Course Description & Objectives: 

This course introduces the student to the management of construction activities. The architect being thelead consultant on building projects s/he has to have a good knowledge of the issues of constructionmanagement, including construction laws, costs, safety, supervision and other aspects of the building trade.Objectives/aim:• To introduce students to the structure and organisation of the building industry• To develop an understanding of the legal requirements in construction management• To gain skills of contract development and contract execution   

Learning Outcomes: 

On completing this course the student should be able to appreciate the role of an architect in managing aconstruction, and to work with other allied professionals of the building team.
