This course provides the student with an in-depth understanding of dealing with acoustics, solar energyapplication in buildings, and Environmental Impact Assessment.Objectives/aim:• To understand the importance of acoustic options in a building• To gain an understanding of solar energy and its application in building construction• To appreciate and develop Environmental Impact Assessment plans for construction developments   

Construction Management for Architects

This course introduces the student to the management of construction activities. The architect being thelead consultant on building projects s/he has to have a good knowledge of the issues of constructionmanagement, including construction laws, costs, safety, supervision and other aspects of the building trade.Objectives/aim:• To introduce students to the structure and organisation of the building industry• To develop an understanding of the legal requirements in construction management• To gain skills of contract development and contract execution   

Theory and Design of Structures for Architects III

This course introduces the student to the analysis of the structural elements of the building as a way ofensuring stability of the building.Objectives/aim:• Acquire analytical capacity for linear calculation of structures.• Acquire first concepts about metallic structure, reinforced concrete and foundations.• To make structural analysis as a method of assessment and correlation based on the learning of theacquired physical knowledge.• Obtain basic criteria to develop the implantation and construction of an industrial building.   

Architectural Design Fundamentals VI

The student is introduced to graphical techniques of preparation of architectural design specification,design standards and regulations and other important aspects of the profession.Objectives/aim:• To gain skills of preparation of architectural production drawings• To acquaint students with design standards and regulations   

Architectural Design Portfolio VI

The student is exposed to more advanced design of complex built forms. This helps to train an all roundarchitect, who can handle design challenges of varying complexity.Objectives/aim:• To be able to handle an integrated building design project in an urban context• To develop skills of producing working drawings
