This course examines the major strands of management and organization theory and their application in the context of the construction industry. The meaning of management and its role in construction building production process and project management; building management procedures form inception to completion; the nature of capital projects; the role of clients, consultants and contractors offices. Coordination, control and supervision of construction projects investments and appraisal and control of capital project with application both by contractors and design offices; selection and control of construction plant and equipment with emphasis on site application including acquisition; maintenance and utilization.
