Course Description & Objectives: 

The course consists of a study of the nature and elements of crimes specified in the Penal Code and other legislations. A great deal of emphasis is put on the study of case law in order that the students understand how the law of crime is interpreted by the courts.

Learning Outcomes: 

At the end of the course students should be able to understand:

  1. The ingredients of crimes in the Penal Code.
  2. Crimes outside the Penal Code.
  3. Defences available to particular charges.
