Course Description & Objectives: 

Objectives:

  • At the end of the course students should know the normal sequence of speech, language and psychological development
  • Students should be able to make judgments about normal and abnormal development in clinical settings, including consideration of bi / multilingual environments
  • Students will be able to demonstrate theoretically-based observation of children’s speech, language and related skills

Content:·         Early interaction and non-verbal communication·         The relationship between chronological, developmental and language ages·         Development of normal listening and attention·         Adults communication with children·         Development of comprehension & expression, play & social interaction·         The development of speech and language in a multi / bi-lingual environmentFunctions of language, means, needs and opportunities for communication
