Course Description & Objectives: 

The student will be attached to the District health office for a period of 4 weeks. They will be directly supervised by the District Director of Health Services.

Learning Outcomes: 

Objectives:

  1. Demonstrate managerial, leadership and administrative skills
  2. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the National health Policy
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of how the National health care delivery system operates including inputs, processes and outputs.
  4. Demonstrate ability to manage resources at all levels of district health services.

Content:

  1. Attending management meetings
  2. Attending to day-to-day routine office work
  3. Support supervision of health workers in lower level health units
  4. Participate in carrying out training needs assessment and designing training programmes for various cadres of health workers.
  5. Participate in making of district work plans
  6. Participate in district budget meetings
