Course Description & Objectives: 

This course is designed to introduce teacher trainees to economic theory and practice as it pertains to educational systems and their impact on economic growth and development. The course material applies general economic principles and theories to the context of education.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      COURSE OBJECTIVE: The general objective of economic theories and practice in education is to enable the teacher trainees conceptualize the application of economic principles theories in educational investment. 

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course, teacher trainees should be able to:

  1. Explain the major issues and problems relevant to the relationship between education and economic growth
  2. Examine the economic nature of education and the economic factors that affect educational institutions
  3. Analyze the various approaches to educational planning
