Course Description & Objectives: 

 The course leads learners through a historical perspective of graphic design-images and symbols nature, function and character from pre-historic to modern times.  Learners explore the scope, nature, character and functions of graphic design in the teaching of graphic arts today.  Learners are made to explore the graphic design and studio technology.  Images, making symbols, lay out, compositions purpose graphic design drawing.    

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of this course, learners should be in position to.

  1. Discuss the historical development of graphics as a medium of communication through the ages.
  2. Relate the development of graphic design to the teaching of art today.
  3. Examine drawing that is specifically meant for graphics as compared to drawing in general.
  4. Survey different graphical images and their intended messages.
  5. Experiment with different graphics materials and their effects in different presentations.
  6. Explore with the different methods and techniques applied to the teaching of graphics.
