Course Description & Objectives: 

The course is covers the rights of Children and the procedures to be adopted in transactions involving Adoption, Guardianship and Custody of children. It also deals with succession to property after death of a family member.

Learning Outcomes: 

It is expected that by the end of the course, students will be able to;

  1.     Advise concerned parties on the rights of the children.
  2.     Follow the appropriate procedures in effecting adoption, guardianship and custody of children.
  3.    Secure maintenance of children.
  4.    Secure probate and effect testate succession.
  5.    Handle intestate estates.
