Course Description & Objectives: 

Financial management deals with acquisition and use of funds. It looks at methods of investment appraisal, working capital management, financing and dividend decisions. It helps student to appreciate the theory on management of funds in both public and private sector. Objectives or AimsAppreciate the scope of Financial Management and functional areas of the firm and the role of a Financial Manager plays in the overall fortunes of the firm

  • Be able to Describe different functions of financial management ie Capital budgeting, Financing, Working capital management, and dividend decision.
  • Be able to carry out simple financial analysis using ratios.

   

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course, the student should be able to:- 

  • Analyze and make informed, rational decisions in the key financial management areas of managing long-term and short term assets, management of company finances and earnings.
  • Develop financial analysis and plans for meeting the business challenges in finance.
