This course intends to orient students towards university engineering studies; give them an understanding of science, engineering technology, innovation, the different engineering disciplines, as well as analytical methods. It is intended to make students appreciate the growth of science and technology over the centuries and more recent times. The growth of a professional engineer and his role in national development are also discussed.Objectives:

  • Teach students strategies for University Engineering studies
  • Teach students, science, engineering, technology, innovation and appropriate technology
  • To introduce the History of Science and Technology
  • To introduce the Scientific, Experimental and Engineering methods
  • To learn about professionalism and the role of professional bodies
  • To learn about the role and challenges of an engineer in our society
