Course Description & Objectives: 

This course is intended to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and skills to manage and control pharmaceuticals and health supplies inventory within the health system. 

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of this course, the graduate is expected to be able to:- 

  • Identify appropriate records used in inventory management;
  • Demonstrate ability to manage, retrieve and use information available from records to make decisions relating to inventory management;
  • Generate reports on the distribution and utilization of pharmaceuticals and health supplies;
  • Be able to evaluate the performance of the inventory management system;
  • Be able to correctly quantify and order pharmaceuticals and health supplies;
  • Carry out proper receiving and issuing of procured inventory;
  • Carry out good storage practices; and,
  • Use inventory management software.
