Course Description & Objectives: 

The aim of this course is to deal with measurement techniques and description of building works for the purpose of preparing bills of quantities and other documents. Historical developments of quantity surveying functions and professional; the role of a quantity surveyor in a building project and the purpose of bills of quantities, historic evolution of measurements, introduction to communication data in construction industry, their uses and application in tender and construction process, the theory of measurement from drawings; application of principles of measurements and description of work to elementary examples; simple strip foundations isolated base, gates, etc.
