The course will focus on procedures in the cut up room where specimens are identified, logged in, examined, described, dissected and prepared for histological processing. The purpose of this procedure is to establish what the specimen consists of, what it looks like and how it differs from the normal. Principles of dissection will be spelled out in this course particularly taking into account that all the pathology is assessed and features of prognostic importance noted. The course will expose the student to the processing of all tissues from the body.
