- By the end of the course, students should have the knowledge, attitudes and skills required to enable them to undertake speech and language therapy management and intervention of physical disabilities in children especially cerebral palsy
- Students should have the knowledge, attitudes and skills required to enable them to undertake speech and language therapy management and intervention of clients with PMLD

- Causes of physical disabilities / PMLD
- Definition of terminology e.g. types of cerebral palsy
- Assessment and differential diagnosis of children with physical disabilities
- Approaches to intervention / management
- Environments to promote communication, communication in everyday situations
- Good practise for managing dysphagia in children with physical disabilities
- The roles of other professionals
