Course Description & Objectives:

The influences of a Civil Engineering project on another Civil Engineering project is the basis of research work in this field, as well as core to the design and maintenance of Civil Engineering projects. Projects should enhance, not interfere with other projects, the environment, or social life. This course discusses this in depth. It is often a difficult concept for the student to understand, muddling it with the purpose of the project. Much supervision is necessary, but the student must be able to discover the influences themselves. Objectives:

To give confidence to the student as a team mate of the Civil Engineer in the conception, design, construction and maintenance of Civil Engineering projects.
To prepare the student for further studies in this same field.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion the student will:

Be confident in carrying out the professional duties of a Civil Engineering Surveyor in whatever project, and at whatever project stage he/she is called upon to perform.
Be aware of the influences of one thing upon another, and how such influences can be manipulated to be beneficial.
