Course Description & Objectives: 

The upshot of all the developmental work in both qualitative and quantitative methods is that there is now as much variation among both researchers as there is between quantitatively or qualitatively oriented scholars and evaluators. The course is intended to:

  • Introduce students to theories and conceptual issues in qualitative and quantitative research in Information Science
  • enable students understand the nature and characteristics of qualitative and quantitative research
  • enable students understand the processes of qualitative and quantitative

 

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course candidates will be able to:

  • demonstrate ability to explain and apply conceptual issues and theories in qualitative and quantitative research in Information Science
  • demonstrate ability to explain the nature and characteristics of qualitative and quantitative research
  • identify and harness current trends in qualitative and quantitative research in information science
  • demonstrate ability to design qualitative and quantitative research studies in Information Science
