Course Description & Objectives: 

The course aims at equipping students with knowledge of the fundamentals of scientific writing and imparting to them skills for effective writing. To facilitate this learning, focus will be on reviewing and critiquing published articles; and writing scientific manuscripts for publication.Objective:

  •  To provide students with effective scientific writing and communication skills.

 

Learning Outcomes: 

At the end of the course, the student should be able to: 

  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to a scientific audience
  • Conduct a literature review and critique a scientific publication
  • Demonstrate ability to use a referencing software
  • Write a publishable scientific manuscript
  • Make a scientific presentation
  • Understand the steps involved in submitting a scientific manuscripts for publication
