Course Description & Objectives: 

The course targets teachers and people working in the field of physics education.  The course will discuss the theory and practice of the models of teaching and new trends and developments as it applies to physics education curricula, instruction and programs.  The role of the individualized methods of learning in effective teaching/learning will be discussed. 

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course, participants should be able to: 

  1. Discuss the philosophical basis for models of teaching and state and explain the different families of models.
  2. Apply the theory and practice of models of teaching and different instructional strategies to physics education curricula instruction and programmes.
  3. Identify appropriate performance objectives to assess pupils’ achievement in each of the education domains.
  4. Design good, valid programmed materials that appropriately attain the different educational objectives.
