Course Description & Objectives: 
  1. The course introduces the student to Uganda Literature as a body of creative expression emerging from and reflecting Uganda's identity as a modern nation.
  2. The representative samples of the literature are treated within an historical perspective. 
  3. The main concerns, characteristics and techniques of the literature are explored.
  4.  Particular attention is paid to the contexts within which the literature is produced.
  5.  National and global factors influencing Uganda's literary productivity are
  6. examined and used in assessing the existing literature and predicting future trends.
