Course Description & Objectives: 
  1. Overview the impact of human activity on environmental components and the interaction in urban areas.
  2. The role of Planning in management of urban environments (Social economic and corporate planning and management) relationship with planning in other government departments.
  3. Environmental Planning and management Planning approaches for urban areas i.e. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in urban areas, Rapid environment appraisal systems approach to environmental planning (i.e. link between planning theory and practice on one hand, law and administration on the other – SEA Strategic Environmental Assessment. Case study approaches will be emphasized.
  4. Physical Planning Principles and environmental Management.
  5. Urban design and Environmental Design principles and techniques.
