  1. Distribution and type of water resources in E. Africa.
  2. Use and management of water resource in E. Africa.
  3. Government policy on protection of these resources in Uganda.
  4.  Hydrological cycle and its significance for water resource evaluation and management. Precipitation, interception, evaporation and transpiration, hydrology analysis, stream flow, ground water, sedimentation, water quality and availability, water pollution control, choice in water quality and availability, water inventory and management, conservation of water catchment areas.
