Course Description & Objectives: 
  • Advanced skills in determining the differential diagnoses from all available information (history, examination, and investigations).
  • This includes syndromes in clinical medicine, improved understanding of medical conditions with their tendencies to multi-system presentation and a general understanding of world-wide disease epidemiology. 
  • Students should be well versed with management of emergencies uncommon in our environment like myocardial infarction, understanding advanced procedures like central venous lines, Swan Ganz catheterisation, hemo and peritoneal analysis.
  • Students are expected to teach senior clerks the principles and practice of clinical medicine, planning examinations and have a general insight in the clinical aspects of management in a hospital setting.

 

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course the candidate should have started to build a solid foundation of general medicine and geo-medicine.  He Should get an idea of unusual and extraordinary diseases, emergencies and procedures.
