Course Description & Objectives:
- This course covers the anatomy of the outer coat of the eye, the uvea and the crystalline lens. The course is designed to teach the student the gross and microscopic anatomic arrangement of the cornea, the Sclera, the Iris, the cilliary body , the choroid and the Crystalline lens.
- The course incorporates the teaching of the physiological function of the lens and the cornea. The metabolism and maintenance of clarity of the cornea and lens. The composition, secretion, and flow of aqueous humour.
- The intraocular pressure and its maintenance.
- Basic gross and micro histopathology is taught in this course.
