Course Description & Objectives: 
  1. Who is an entrepreneur? How do you know that you are an entrepreneur (inventory and evaluation of individual and group potentialities for entrepreneurship).
  2. Entrepreneurial skills development (Attitudes towards self, others, subject matter and business). Principles of entrepreneurship.
  3. Concepts, characteristics and functions of entrepreneurs.
  4. The business idea and how to start a business.
  5. How to start tourism related business.
  6. Micro and small business development and management (definition, types, forms, characteristics, possibilities and challenges).
  7. Micro and small business in the tourism industry.
  8. Making a feasibility study.
  9. Making a marketing plan.
  10. Starting the business (start-up capital, financial plan, business plan, legal responsibilities, etc). Effective management of micro and small scale enterprises resources (human, material and financial) institutional arrangements for supporting entrepreneurs and micro and small scale businesses in Uganda.
