Course Description & Objectives: 

This course will provide a study on the Health Systems Management in the country.

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course, students should have a good understanding of the 21st Century health system in order to:

  • Describe the effects, both positive and negative, of globalization on health at the national and sub-national levels
  • Understand concepts and theories related to health care reform, planning, financing and organization in health systems, worldwide;
  • Understand key issues in the comparative literature on health policy, planning and management of health systems and population health;
  • Analyze the roles and responsibilities of national health leadership, and global health actors and governance in promoting health;
  • Apply relevant concepts and theories to policy and management challenges faced by health systems, including public health authorities especially in developing countries and transitional states.
