Course Description & Objectives: 

This course is intended to equip the graduate with the ability to integrate activities at different pillars of the pharmaceutical management cycle.

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of this course, the graduate is expected to be able to:-

  • Describe key elements of the pharmaceutical management cycle with specific reference to selection, procurement, distribution and rational use of medicines;
  • Describe the policy, legal framework and management support tools for pharmaceuticals and health supplies;
  • Explain the process of medicines management in the context of a global environment;
  • Apply the quality criteria with regard to packaging, storage conditions and acceptable storage time before use;
  • Oversee, analyze, design and organize the logistics process as a chain of activities; and,
  • Set up and execute a recall procedure.
