Course Description & Objectives: 

By the end of the course the candidate is well versed with renal diseases, electrolyte and acid base imbalances and hypertension.   He should be able to treat the same and he should know the indications for peritoneal- and hemodialysis.

  • Lectures cover diagnostic investigations in renal disease, and disorders such as acute and chronic renal failure, the glomerulopathies and tubulointerstitial diseases.
  • The course include lectures on electrolyte and acid base disorders, hypertension and diuretics as well as drug use in renal diseases.
  • Practical sessions involve learning to perform renal biopsies and interpretation of lab data related to acid-base disorders.
