Course Description & Objectives:
By the end of the course the candidate should be able to recognise and treat the common neurological diseases. He should know the indications of practical investigations such as CT, electroencephalography, myography, nerve conduction studies.
- This course compromises of lectures in diagnostic investigations in neurological disease and localising lesions of the nervous system
- Lecture topics cover the convulsive disorders, stroke syndromes, peripheral neuropathies and movement disorders.
- Other lectures discuss diseases of the spinal cord, meningitides, myopathies, and aspects of alcoholism and substance abuse.
- Students is exposed to performance and interpretation of EMGs and CT scans.
