Course Description & Objectives: 

This course is intended to help students to understand how feeding, breeding, management and interaction with the environment influence animal production.

Learning Outcomes: 

Students should be able to:

  1. describe and explain the process of ruminant and non-ruminant digestion in farm animals.
  2. explain the factors that affect feed intake and efficiency of feed utilization in farm animals.
  3. explain the metabolism of feed nutrients in farm animals.
  4. describe metabolic disorders in farm animals.
  5. formulate feeds for different types and age groups of farm animals.
  6. feed different types and age groups of farm animals efficiently.
  7. manage hatching eggs for the production of day old chicks.
