Course Description & Objectives: 

The course builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in principles of Surgery relevant to the practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery I.                                                                                                                                                                                                         Objectives:

  • To understand the principles of assessing wounds of the chest and thorax, debridement, and primary surgical management.
  • To understand the principles of  assessment and stabilisation techniques of head injuries
  • To understand the physiological consequences of pneumoperitoneum

  

Learning Outcomes: 

At the end of the course, the trainee should be able:

  • Demonstrate skills in management of the chest and thorax, debridement, and primary surgical management.
  • Demonstrate an  understanding of the principles of  assessment and stabilisation techniques of head injuries
  • Demonstrate an understanding of  the physiological consequences of pneumoperitoneum
