Course Description & Objectives: 

ENT surgery: Anatomy and physiology of the upper airway:  Assessment of the ear, nose, and throat.  Disorders of the ear, nose and throat - traumatic, infectious, neoplastic.Developmental disorders. Speech anomalies.  Removal of foreign bodies from the ear, nose and throat.  Tracheotomy.  Tonsillo-adenoidectomies.  Sinus washout.Objectives:

  • To identify the different anatomical structures of the upper respiratory system.
  • Assessment of Ear, Nose and Throat conditions and their effects on surgical treatment outcome.
  • Differentiate those conditions necessary for referral to an ENT surgeon from those which do not.
Learning Outcomes: 

 At the end of the course the trainee should be able to

  • To identify the different anatomical structures of the upper respiratory system.
