Course Description & Objectives: 

This course is intended to provide the graduate with skills necessary to enhance economy, efficiency and transparency in the management of procurement operations of pharmaceuticals and health supplies. 

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of this course, the graduate is expected to be able to:-

  • Describe the role of competition, non-discrimination and transparency in achieving “value for money” in procurement operations;
  • Demonstrate skills of effective planning, execution and monitoring of public procurement operations;
  • Prepare well-balanced bidding documents;
  • Explain the importance of “bid challenge” procedures and related remedies for the proper functioning of a public procurement system;
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct bi evaluation, contract award and contract administration procedures;
  • Define international commercial trade terms – INCOTERMS; and,
  • Demonstrate the ability to uphold integrity in public procurement operation.
