Course Description & Objectives:

Principles of research proposal writing learned in the student’s first year will be applied out in this course particularly taking into account that all scientific research much be scientifically sound. The course will expose the student to the art and science of writing good research proposals. This will further their skills in electronic scientific data search. increase their awareness about data analysis software packages and bibliography managing.

Learning Outcomes:

The main objective of this course is at the end of the course, the trainee is expected to be able to have a research proposal approved by SBS IRB. To be able to do this, it is expected the trainee, during the course should be able to
Write a scientifically sound research proposal in his or her area of interest according to the recommendation of Makerere University
Obtain departmental approval for his/hers research topic or area by the first week of the semester.
