Course Description & Objectives: 

This course exposes students to the dynamics of health and disease in human populations and introduces services and facilities for the maintenance of health and prevention of disease. It also explores concepts of environmental and occupational health, public health policy and financing. 

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:

  1. Describe the basic concepts of public health and preventive medicine
  2. Demonstrate competency in the application of the concepts of public health and preventive medicine to the maintenance of health
