This course addresses haematological disorders and malignancies in children. It enable students learn the causes, presentation and management of these conditions.
To equip students wit the appropriate competences to manage hematological disorders as well as malignancies in childhood.
The course includes lectures in investigation of lung diseases as well as lung disorders such as bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonias, suppurative lung diseases, neoplasms of the lung and tuberculosis.
Some lectures cover less common lung disorders.
Students are exposed to bronchoscopy and taught how to perform common lung function tests.
Students are required to rotate through the TB wards for a period of 2 weeks.
