Course Description & Objectives: 
  • The course includes lectures in investigation of lung diseases as well as lung disorders such as bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonias, suppurative lung diseases, neoplasms of the lung and tuberculosis.
  • Some lectures cover less common lung disorders. 
  • Students are exposed to bronchoscopy and taught how to perform common lung function tests.
  • Students are required to rotate through the TB wards for a period of 2 weeks.
Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course the candidate should be able to recognise and treat infectious, toxic, pollutant inflicted and degenerated diseases of the lungs and the chest.
